媒体从业人员帕特里克·卡特（肯塔克尔·德利 Kentucker Audley 饰）意外联系到了失踪许久的姐姐卡罗琳（艾米·西米茨 Amy Seimetz 饰）。卡罗琳当初曾在戒毒所治疗，如今住进了一个名为“圣伊甸园”的地方，并自称过上了乌托邦般的生活。为了弄清姐姐的下落，帕特里克和同事兼好友山姆·特纳（AJ·鲍恩 AJ Bowen 饰）、杰克·威廉姆斯（乔·斯万博格 Joe Swanberg 饰）启程前往圣伊甸园的所在地调查。这座乐园位于一个鲜为人知的隐秘所在，许许多多生活中经历痛苦和坎坷的人们，在“父亲”（吉恩·琼斯 Gene Jones 饰）的感召和抚慰下重获新生。

When his sister Caroline joins a community, she travels abroad with her new family. Out of the blue, Caroline invites her brother to visit her in an undefined country and Patrick travels by helicopter with his friends Jake and Sam that work with him at VICE. They find weird that the men that have come to guide them to the Eden Parish have guns. On the arrival to the camp, Patrick, Sam and Jake find a community of happy people that worship Father. They interview Father but soon they realize that people are not as happy as they seem to be. Further, they find that they are trapped in the Parish Eden and they want to leave the place with the newcomers. But the Father does not have intention to let them go.

一開片就show出了演職表。我就話家姐點解咁眼熟，原來是在怪奇物語裏頭演過Eleven的啊姨。
自杀也就算了，有的教会颂扬脑残和智力死亡，更加惨
不寒而栗是真恐怖，细思恐极才最现实。从剧情上说，有瑕疵，但并不妨碍人联想起现实，那是最可怕的部分。放在美国也许是邪教，放在中国那就是传销。
缇·威斯特，伊莱·罗斯没挑错人
7/10，故事还算吸引人，尤其是教主出场很精彩，其他配角也是不错，但是对于事件深层原因未做表诉。

宗教狂热分子真可怕，有信仰真可怕:-)
手把手教你建立邪教，当上教主，然后一不小心搞到全教覆灭😂最烦仿纪录片类型，不过正因为是纪实手法，特别搓火。那些来不及逃走的人，信了奇怪的教又后悔，为愚蠢付出了代价。而至死都深信自己能得道的人，求仁得仁，反倒死得有点大义凛然了。
求生欲被瓦解，对观众是一个激烈到静止的过程，但导演却需要越来越紧张，一个随时坍塌的城邦，需要一个随时身死的王。
迷茫颠沛的人生，使人容易走上依赖信仰以求心灵寄托的道路。正因为迷茫，所以很难自证，也许任何笃信都带有极强烈致幻般的极端迷信。纪录片风格，却没有渲染压抑的气氛，在朗朗日头底下很难让人联想到悲剧和绝望，但，这才是最讽刺的不是吗。PS：剧情单薄，难以支撑起如此沉重的命题。
在伪纪录片的包装下，更像是一部政府出资的「反邪教科学宣传片」，从剧本的角度上说，摄制组进入邪教团体后被表面所迷惑，然后忽然发展为全体自杀，没有太好的串联，似乎就为了最后的自杀做准备。邪教头目的气质把握的不错。
应该是来自于真实事件，不恐怖但是很真实，都是信仰扭曲而来的屠杀，一些对白颇有意味。（美国电影中邪教的基本特征都是能进不能出。。）
7.0；在一個陳舊的題材里完成超越，另一個維度上的《神秘村》
又是伪纪录片形式，比起超自然力量的主导，因为自私、渴望独裁、崇尚杀戮而催生出的邪教对平凡人的迫害更叫人毛骨悚然。身为一个热衷于演绎恶趣味的导演，他俨然通过这一次高度还原真实事件而使自己达到了一个讲故事的新高峰（对于他自己而言）。
还比较耐看的纪录片（注意是纪录片！）但背景缺失和节奏的把握是硬伤。
