都会の「団地」に取り残された孤独な老人たちと、安住の地を求め被災地から「団地」に流れてきた若夫婦とが、時に意地を張り合い、時に本音をぶつけ合いながら、ささやかな絆を築いていく姿をユーモアとペーソス豊かに描く人間ドラマ。
テーマは『生きること』、そして『誇り』。一人で懸命に生きようと気張る老人たちの思いが、人生の苦難に動揺する若者の背中を押し、彼らの生きる道を照らしていく･･･。 Sora and Remon Minami , a young couple that has moved into an old housing complex in the outskirts of Tokyo, make the acquaintance of a queer old man called Hashiba Katsuya and are taken to the \"house of quilt\". This is where old folk who wish to lead an independent life have gathered, and Sora and Remon are asked by the caretaker Sakurai Kazue if they would like to join in. Sora quits the factory where he had started working at and visits the 'house of quilt' frequently. Remon gets angry with her husband for worrying more about the care of the old folk than their own lives. At that moment, the most frightening thing happens to Remon. Disturbed that Remon has not returned from her part-time join even though it is late at night, Sora visits Katsuya's room and makes a big fuss. The next day, Kazue gathers the old folk in the house and get Remon and Sora to give a full account.
