In this we see Bill preparing himself for his evening out, and his facial contortions in knotting and adjusting his necktie cause screams of laughter. Immediately on his arrival at the house where the party is held Bill has an argument with the footman, and manages to send a bust that it standing on a pedestal in the hall crashing to the floor. When entering the drawing room he trips over a mat and spreads himself on the floor to the amusement of the remaining guests. Later on he takes possession of a young lady, and leads her to a secluded spot, where he produces his old pipe and commences to smoke. Then her lover or husband arrives and takes her off, after he has extinguished a table cloth which Bill has set on fire. Bill now returns to the drawing room, where he collides with a waiter carrying a tray, and there is an awful mix-up. Bill extricates himself, and in his hurried retreat backward strikes an old gentleman in the stomach and topples him over. The company show resentment at Bill's behavior, and he decides to withdraw, but not before he smashes all the furniture and ornaments he can find in the hallway.
