In 1971 Jiaunguo's grandparents meet for the first time thanks to a ball of red yarn. Some 20 years later, Jiaunguo and Xue as toddlers meet the same way. As they grow up, China does as well, modernizing at a rapid pace. Their paths cross on many occasions through the years until fate finally brings them together, for they are bound by the red thread of destiny.
Love, destiny, Austria and red thread come together in this delightful short film commissioned by the Austrian government to commemorate their 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China.
