Pierrot and Michèle, a married couple decide to split up during the holidays with a view to taking bearings. Michèle's uncle will not hear of such a thing and threatens to disinherit her. In spite of that husband and wife go their separate way but are reunited in a seaside hotel where they have to go through a series of comical situations.
