瑞秋（玛琳娜·佛伊丝 Marina Foïs 饰）和文森特（尼古拉·杜沃歇尔 Nicolas Duvauchelle 饰）相识在一家珠宝店里，强烈的化学反应在两人之间产生了。然而，瑞秋和丈夫弗兰克（罗什迪·泽姆 Roschdy Zem 饰）结婚多年，文森特家中亦有娇妻特莉（艾洛迪·布歇 Élodie Bouchez 饰），受锢与伦理道德关系的四人决定逾越界限，来一场激情四射的“换妻派对”。

当我们认识到，作者旨在展现阶级固化语境下，流动的两性权力和多元的个体差异，以及个人身份、地位和价值借由爱情「攀升」抑或「下滑」的动态平衡关系，或许就不会把《少数幸运儿》的「开放关系」等同于「有毒关系」来分析。显然，打破世俗道德框架是导致「等式」成立的前提，观众选择「望而却步」不是缺少冲动，而是出于理性计算得出的最优解——是的，多数人不接受「性爱分离」是因为无法承担其高昂的代价。正如影片中所示，不受道德约束的「交易」是会导致「弱势一方」受伤的危险游戏。而在迷雾般的开放式关系当中，敏感又细致的人通常提前领会「爱情密码」并主动将性与爱划上等号，觉知缓慢的人因「不确定性」而安于柔弱。依照本能，多数人都会在《冷水浴》后选择退出「三人行」模式，只有《少数幸运儿》能从「四个情人」中划出两性间流变的对称线。
