本片根据Peter Turner所写的同名传记改编，讲述了奥斯卡奖得主、40/50年代“黑色电影”女神之一Gloria Grahame（Annette Bening饰）的晚年生活。当57岁的Gloria Grahame患上癌症时，一位年轻的演员Peter Turner（Jamie Bell饰）进入她的生活，照顾这位行将离开人世的女演员，两人也渐生情愫。 Real life proves just as dramatic off-screen as it does on it for these two actors, the aging Hollywood superstar Gloria Grahame and her younger lover, Peter Turner. As their mismatched romance waxes and wanes over time, events conspire to keep them in each other's lives even when it proves difficult and demanding. Ultimately, they find that they must each come to terms with whatever fate they face in the future whether they are together or apart.

人物扁平，背景悬浮。但不得不说的是，转场精妙很有想法。之前没看过安妮特·贝宁的作品，不知道她本人说话方式就是这样，还是为了角色刻意捏嗓。如果是后者，则大可不必。角色害怕被人说“老”不代表她说话就要娇滴滴的。

竟然有些羡慕，人生最后时刻还有鲜肉奉上真爱，此生无憾了。
恋情很自然，喜欢这个故事，不过总觉得女主小女生的神情还没有完全和角色融合到一起
影片仅展现了女主最后两年的时光，但其中隐藏的情感和叙事却完整塑造了人物的形象，以至于观影后两天仍时不时感到这种时代的大、人物的小、感情的慰藉和矛盾...... 这一切成功造就了一种巨大的张力！
